LED Therapy

What is LED Therapy?

LED light therapy is a natural and non- invasive skin treatment for all skin tones. It encourages skin health by delivering energy into the skin’s cells to boost collagen and elastin production.

Spectrum LED has the ability to combine up to 3 LED colours at once helping you to target a range of skin conditions in the one treatment.

Blue Light: Targets the upper layers of the skin and is effective for treating acne by killing acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation.

Yellow Light: Penetrates slightly deeper than blue light, helping to reduce redness and treat superficial skin concerns like fine lines and dullness. It also improves circulation, making it beneficial for conditions requiring mild stimulation and rejuvenation.

Red Light: Reaches deeper than yellow light, promoting collagen and elastin production to reduce inflammation, fine lines, and wrinkles. It also supports skin healing by stimulating cellular repair mechanisms.

Infrared Light: Has the deepest penetration, reaching into the skin’s tissue and targeting blood vessels to support healing, pain relief, and deeper inflammation reduction.

What can LED Light Therapy help with?

Acne

Blue light wavelengths in the LED spectrum are effective in reducing acne by targeting and eliminating acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation.

Inflammation

Wavelengths such as red or near-infrared help reduce skin inflammation, promoting a calmer and more balanced skin tone

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Red light stimulates collagen and elastin production, supporting smoother, more youthful skin

Rosacea

Gentle, specific wavelengths can reduce the appearance of rosacea by soothing redness and inflammation.

Actinic Keratosis and Skin Cancer

Some wavelengths, particularly blue and red light, are useful in treating precancerous lesions and other non-melanoma skin cancers, such as Actinic Keratosis.

Wound Healing

Near-infrared light promotes cell regeneration and accelerates the wound-healing process, useful for post-surgical recovery or injury.

What is LED Light Therapy?

LED light therapy is a non-invasive skin treatment first researched by NASA in the 1990s for its wound-healing benefits for astronauts. Since then, it has evolved to address various conditions and enhance skin health. This therapy utilises different LED wavelengths to emit blue, yellow, red, and infrared light, each targeting specific concerns:

  • Blue light: Focuses on the skin's surface layers, ideal for treating acne and similar conditions.
  • Yellow light: Reaches deeper than blue light to address superficial skin concerns.
  • Red light: Penetrates further than yellow light, reducing inflammation and stimulating collagen production.
  • Infrared light: Reaches the deepest layers of skin tissue to improve blood vessel function.

Customised treatments can be tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs.
